Plot: the situation with the possible ban of the Russian team from the Olympics - Opinion, commentaries.
Moscow, July 25th RSport. AlexandeRogulev.
According to the Head Coach of the Russian team Valentina Rodionenkothe  team settled down in the Olympic Village without any problems.
Rodionenko denied the information spread by the mass media in Sunday that  the Russiagymnastics team was not allowed to move in in Brazil. She pointed out the team had not arrived in Brazil yet!
We arrived and moved in without problems. Sill do not understand the source of this canard (“duck” =Literal translation ) without understanding what is going on. The most important thing, everything is OK, all unpleasant things are  behind”, she said on the phone.
IOC declined to ban the entire Russian team, and left an option for the individual federations to decide who could participate at the Rio Olympics under a series of criteria.
“You heard which conditions were the set forth, and we will be subjected to doping controls”, she continued. “They will shake ?? out nerves all right, but our goal is to put ourselves together and have a decent performance despite of everything,  The kind of the atmosphere over there  - this is another question. No other choicewe will fight”.
Rodionenko added they will have no problems with the FIG. “Right away the FIGeven before the IOC decision was saying that it did envision the gymnastics competition without the Russian team:, she added ( my comment – is it true?)

Fact or fiction? The press, gymnastics and pregnancy doping

It was a Sunday morning.  I was drinking my coffee and contemplating the day ahead - a workout at the gym, shopping for groceries, an evening reading a book, or catching up on last night's episodes of crime thriller The Bridge .  How nice it was not to have to think about work for a day. Then I saw it - a story about the history of doping in The Observer .  Interesting reading. Of course, cheating is as old as the hills.  It is, unfortunately, human nature for some people to try to gain easy advantage in any kind of competition.  That is why we have laws, rules, ethical guidelines.  People who cheat should face justice and shouldn't complain when they are found out. But the story about pregnancy doping bothered me.  Hadn't that been found to be fictional?  The author began with Olga Kovalenko's allegations made in 1994 - but the rumours had started way back in 1991 with the documentary series More Than A Game .  The practice...

‘My daughter likes gymnastics. For us, this is the big success’. Aliya Mustafina talks to Match TV

Via VK.com.  Google translate A big interview with Aliya Mustafina was published on MATCH!. We provide a small excerpt below, and the full version is available on the website at the link below  ❓ Aliya, you are now the head coach of the junior artistic gymnastics team. What does your typical day look like? 💜 My current life is similar to what it was when I was competing. In the morning, I have breakfast and go to work by 9:00, we train for four hours, have lunch, rest and train for another three hours. During the training camp, the athletes live at the base. They live and train on the same territory. ❓ Do you manage the gymnasts' personal trainers or do you evenly distribute the responsibilities? 💜 We work in contact with the personal trainers, I listen to their opinions. For example, if the trainer believes that their athlete needs to be given a little rest or do fewer repetitions of a particular exercise, we do so. ❓ Describe the current generation of children. Do they nee...

Nagorny in Bolshoi Sport interview, 7 November 2025

You announced that you "unofficially" retired from athletics. How do you rate it? What achievements are you most proud of? To what extent did you realize your full potential? Were there any career moves you regret? I haven't yet mentally accepted the fact that my career is over. I understand that my chances are slim due to the personal sanctions imposed on me and my personal schedule. I work three jobs, and sometimes I don't have time to train, let alone take care of my personal needs. I have a lot of responsibility for projects and the team. I'll likely make my official retirement announcement next year, but I still want to compete somewhere, to "shake off the old days." I regret that my professional career ended so early and abruptly. I still have, as we say in sports, "something left in me." In many ways, I could have pushed a little harder, been more disciplined in my training, found a new approach... For example, the Youth Olympic Games ...
