Gymnast Polina Fedorova told about his sporting career

More recently, we enthusiastically watched as the Russian team performs at the World Summer Universiade in South Korea. Our team has once again demonstrated its sporting successes. It is gratifying that among them was a resident of Chuvashia Polina Fedorova. Master of Sports of Russia in gymnastics, team member of the Russian Federation, DYUSSHOR ward number 6 in gymnastics, a student of the Chuvash State University. IN Ulyanov - it's all about the fragile, single-minded girlfriend Pauline. We were able to communicate with the young athletic talent.

- Pauline, tell me, please, how did your sports career?

- My sports career began when I was 6 years old. In the gymnastics, I have 13 years. For the first time I saw the acrobatic sport gymnasts still in kindergarten at the matinee. The girl, who so deftly did the exercises, I was fascinated. Admiring her performance, I realized that I wanted to learn how to perform these complex tricks.

As a child I was an active child, liked to run, jump, climb on the playground. I think that this also influenced the decision of my parents to send me to gymnastics. Now I am grateful to them for what they have taught me to work, to have a goal and win yourself. I remember my first show - I was 9 years old, I defended the honor of the republic in the city of Izhevsk.

- Is it difficult to combine studies and sports?

- Education - is a good reason to escape from the sport as the best holiday - a change of activity. Much more interesting to develop in all directions, not just in sports. The more cases, the more quickly they have to perform, so you need to learn how to allocate their time so that all have time. I believe that the whole can be found time and opportunity if only to want.

- If you have an idol in gymnastics?

- Idols I have not. It seems to me that everyone is talented and unique in its own way. Of course, I watch the performances of well-known gymnasts, watch their training online. Watching them, I learn something new, looking for myself something useful and interesting.

- How much time have you spent on training?

- I train 6 times a week, 2 times a day. The first training session begins at 7 o'clock in the morning before the start of the school day. After class, I'm going to the gym again. In general, the day I train for 5-6 hours. Now I continue to do. We plan somewhere complicate the program and learn new elements.

- Tell me, how is your training?

- The workout begins with a warm up - running, jumping, kick their feet and hands coups. All of these exercises are necessary for warming up the muscles. Then we do the exercises at a special physical training. We train all 4 shells, where are working combinations and teach new elements. At the end of the training - again need a warm-up, to relax muscles.

- Which of all the competitions have become the most difficult for you?

- The most serious and complicated for me was the XXVIII Summer Universiade, held in Gwangju (South Korea). Training lasted for a long time. I gain experience, corrected deficiencies. I understand that it is necessary to speak not only for myself, but also to defend the honor of our country. In assessing his performance on the 10-point scale, I think that peaked at 7 points.

- What are you keen besides sports?

- I love outdoor activities with family and friends. We walk around the city, ride a bike, go hiking in the pool, climbing wall. Besides, I enjoy hand-made, (in translation from English means "handmade") I like tinkering small cards, crafts, toys and bags.

- Tell us about your coach?

- When I came to the sport, she took me to her coach Tatiana Kantysheva. Then I studied with Irina Katysheva Arkadyevna. Both of them I am very grateful for what they have taught me the basics of gymnastics. Still I maintain close contact with them. They gave me a foundation from which I go forward.

Now I have coached a great coach Irina Nikolaeva. On some shells help us Platonova Svetlana Pavlovna (choreography, log, free) and Raisa Kuznetsova Ahmetovna (beams, suspension). For all time training with them, I received one valuable piece of advice: "In the event the main thing - do not fight with your opponent, and with himself. It is necessary to strictly follow his program, did not dwell on the estimates. "

- It is widely believed that gymnastics is quite traumatic sport. You have no fear of getting hurt?

- Injuries have in any sport. And if they are afraid, it is better not to do anything. Afraid of wolves - in the woods not to go. To avoid injury to properly perform exercises. Yes, I have been light and serious injuries, but it did not prevent me to continue to engage in gymnastics. In the championship of Russia in the floor exercise in 2014, I injured leg. It hurt, but I decided to finish the exercise, overcoming pain. Fortunately there was no limit, when I found out that I won.

- What do you wish novice gymnasts?

- I would like to wish the guys never give up, and do not throw the begun business midway. Despite the fact that it is difficult and painful. Any sport gives a certain hardening of character and distsiplinu.Vy must understand that it is impossible to learn a complex element from the first time. Therefore, you must learn to endure, to work and strive for goals. Work hard on yourself!

30 years in elite sport: Oksana Chusovitina

You've been competing internationally for over 30 years. How has gymnastics changed over that time? Is there anything about your sport that has remained the same for decades? First of all, the age has changed. More mature athletes are competing now, which makes me happy. Secondly, the apparatuses. They've become more comfortable and sophisticated. Gymnastics in general has become more challenging, but in my youth, people performed mostly the same elements as they do now. Back then, this was par for the course, but now it surprises many. It's a bit amusing. Has the nature of the training itself changed? For me personally, absolutely. Now, my life isn't just about my athletic career. I'm involved with the Oksana Chusovitina Academy, which was personally opened by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. It has 155 students, both girls and boys. I used to train three times a day, but now I train once. The entire afternoon is taken up with the academy and organi...

Tatyana Nabiyeva on work and love in China

Some highlights from a long interview with 2010 World champion Tatyana Nabiyeva.  Source: Russian team page on VK.com.  Translation - Google translate A big interview with Tatyana Nabieva about the peculiarities of work and life in China, the bright years of her sports career, a little about modern gymnastics and about love. On the Nabiyeva flight — At the same championship, you presented a new element on the bars, which was later added to the rules with your last name (flying over the top bar with a straight body, difficulty group F. — Sport24). How did you come up with the idea to try something new? — Actually, it happened spontaneously, I think. We worked with Vera Iosifovna [Kiryashova] on the purity of the elements on the bars, sometimes I didn’t fly all the way to the Shaposhnikova element. Once I didn’t fly all the way to the bars either and stood on my feet between the bars, bending my legs in flight for safety. Then Vera Iosifovna said that this was a different eleme...

Viktoria Komova - Happy Birthday!

Viktoria Komova, born 30th January 1995, celebrates her birthday today.  Happy Birthday, Viktoria! Have a lovely day. Time to revisit a picture gallery posted last year ... and to hope for a good year for Viktoria and her fans. I was doing something far more important, researching an article, when these pictures of Viktoria Komova  caught my eye. They are far from the standard gymnastics pictures of gymnasts celebrating, commiserating, or caught in the midst of their most graceful pose.  Not the best, most aesthetic images to view.  When looking at pictures of gymnasts I am often conscious of selecting the ones taken from the most flattering angle, avoiding the shot with the bent legs, the out of control arms. I took a different viewpoint here, choosing Komova at the most stressed, the least stagey point of her work.  These pictures capture Komova in flight, in the height of motion and effort.  There is no contrivance to them, no trained pose or pause...
