Rodionenko with European Champion David Belyavski Courtesy RGF/Elena Mikhailova This is the interview that many people on the internet have already commented on, regarding Andrei Rodionenko's alleged racism. The original, Russian language version, appears on VTB Bank's website (VTB are sponsors of Russian gymnastics). It takes cleverer people than me to decide what is racism, what is deliberately perjorative, and what is inferred in an interviewer's question. Reporting and analysing Russian gymnastics since 2010. Includes original and exclusive interviews with leading coaches and gymnasts, and historical issues dating back to the Soviet Union. The first blog to report extensively on the sport using Russian language sources. I read, I argue, and I have opinions. Be warned.

Does anyone know how we can watch the live stream in the US? Or if there is a free live stream online?
ReplyDeleteGoogle Match Tv Arena channel's stream. They showed every Russian performance with Emin Garibov as one of the commentators.
DeleteNBC Sports.com has live streaming for each apparatus. They also have replays for everything! The app for smart phones and tablets is great! But I think its only for the US.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the silver medalists. Russia goes home with two team silvers. That is an amazing job to the gymnasts. Russian moment of the meet, Seda hitting beam!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the Russian Team - they won the silver! It was a tight competition for silver and bronze. Going into the last rotation I thought China was a lock for silver and Japan for bronze. It was so nice to see the Russians smile, cry for joy, hug, cry for more joy, and rejoice.
