    I often wondered why she never placed higher.She was worthy of gold all round or at least silver. Maybe it was politics? Probably she came from the 'wrong' part of the Soviet Union. I think they preferred girls from in and around Moscow

 Roshchina discusses Mustafina’s role in the Russian national gymnastics team The Olympic champion has been working with the Russian senior national team since the beginning of 2026 and specializes in the balance beam.
