Mustafina strong enough to compete for Russia again, says Andrei Rodionenko

Aliya Mustafina has said that she will begin training again in December, says Andrei Rodionenko, and he believes that she is strong-willed enough to make the transition back into competitive gymnastics.  Adding that it would be a first for the Russian team, Rodionenko clearly believes that Aliya could still bring a certain something to the sport with her unique determination.

    btw new and big interview from Mustafina and main thing is that Aliya says that she really want's to comeback!     She may change her mind after having the baby. I planned lots of things before giving birth but completely changed my mind after the babies arrived!

      Mustafina is MY favorite GYMNAST, however I agree, I can not see here training 9 hours a day with a baby at home. Of course women work 8 - hours a day with kids, but she is doing skills that are so physically demanding. As selfish as it is for me to want her back, she has spoken endlessly about wanting children. What an amazing mother she will make. (secretly praying 'COME BACK")

      Can you say Oksana Chutsovitina? She was still competing 16 years after giving birth to her son.

      Russia better not count on her coming back. If Russia's best hope for 2020 is Mustafina coming out of retirement, then Russia is going to the way of Romania.

    Aliya Mustafinas new and big interview for russian media. She says that she relly want's to participated in Tokyo Olympics and to help her team :) about her upcoming motherhood and her husband, about euros in Cluj and Simone Biles as a competitor( she was very diplomatic and did not succumb to provocation ) and many other things:) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3wITW06eY0

Who really won the WAG All Around?

You will find a link to the FIG's newly published book of results at the Olympic Games here .  This year, they have broken down the judge's execution scores so you can see exactly how each judge evaluated the gymnasts' performances.  It makes for interesting reading - if only I had more time to analyse each judge's marking.  A skim reading already highlights multiple inconsistencies in individual judges' marks and makes you wonder why they bother with the jury at all. I have taken the time to look at the reference judges' scores for the top four in the women's all around.  The FIG explains here what their role is, and how they are selected.  I even used my calculator, which is a risky thing in my hands.  My, how I wish we could have seen a similar document for the Tokyo World Championships. I wonder if anyone can explain how, if the FIG's Code of Points is so objective and fair, it is possible to come up with two different results using two differ...
